Hussey Copper Introduces First Retail Line of Bacteria-Killing* Copper Home Improvement Products

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hussey Copper, a leader in copper manufacturing, with support from Lynn Tilton and Patriarch Partners, today launches a new line of home improvement products that fight deadly bacteria*¹ known to lurk on surfaces.

This is the first time antimicrobial solid-surface items are available at the retail level. Bathroom sinks, wall plates, push/pull plates, cabinet pulls and tile are now available in a variety of sizes, styles and finishes using Hussey Copper's MD-Cu₂₉.

The product line, available for spring's home improvement season, is made from Hussey Copper's EPA-registered MD-Cu₂₉ antimicrobial copper.  Touch surfaces made with MD-Cu₂₉ kill greater than 99.9% of bacteria* within two hours and kill more than 99% of bacteria* even after repeated contamination.¹

Referencing EPA-approved test protocols and other validated studies, Hussey Copper developed MD-Cu₂₉ antimicrobial copper touch surfaces for commercial, home and healthcare use.  Hussey Copper is working with several public and healthcare institutions to install MD-Cu₂₉ antimicrobial copper touch surfaces.
