Hurry To Enter The 2014 Eggland's Best "Your Best Recipe" Contest

CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J., July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Have an unexpected ingredient you like to pair with Eggland's Best eggs that your friends and family can't resist, or a twist to a sandwich you look forward to serving? Then add your original recipe to the mix of contestants who have already entered the 2014 Eggland's Best "Your Best Recipe" Contest for the chance to win $10,000!

Consumers have until July 31 to visit the Eggland's Best website (www.egglandsbest.com/yourbestrecipe) to enter up to two recipes in four categories: Breakfast, Appetizer, Main Course and Dessert. Keep in mind, all recipes must include at least two whole Eggland's Best eggs, which are fresher than ordinary eggs and contain 10 times more vitamin E, four times more vitamin D, double the omega-3s and 25 percent less saturated fat than ordinary eggs.

The best recipe in each category will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and the recipe with the highest overall score will be awarded the $10,000 Grand Prize. To help engage kids in meal preparation, Eggland's Best is also introducing a "Kid-friendly" award to the second edition of the "Your Best Recipe" Contest. This award will be given to one Kid-friendly entry which allows kids to easily and safely assist their parents in the kitchen and will come with a $1,000 prize.

Following the July 31 contest deadline, recipes will go through two rounds of judging to determine the top 20 Finalists. Finalists will be chosen based on criteria such as ease of preparation, creativity and availability of ingredients. From there, the top 20 Finalist recipes will be judged one last time based on taste, creativity and visual appeal.

The top 20 Finalists will be also be posted to the Eggland's Best website in October where consumers can go online to vote for their favorite recipe. The Finalist that receives the most consumer votes will be crowned "Fan Favorite" and will also receive a $1,000 cash prize. All contest winners will be announced in November.
