Hurricane Matthew Postpones National Stroke Association 5K
DENVER, Oct. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Due to inclement weather generated by Hurricane Matthew, the National Stroke Association is postponing its inaugural Comeback Trail 5K run/walk set for Saturday, Oct. 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
"Out of concern for the safety of our participants, staff, volunteers and sponsors, we made the decision to postpone the event," said Robyn Moore, CEO of the National Stroke Association. "We are encouraged by the support we received for our inaugural 5K run/walk in Florida, and regret that the weather forecast is not in our favor."
Participants and stroke community supporters will be notified of the new date and location as soon as it is available.
"We look forward to having everyone rally with us again in support of this cause on a clearer day in Florida," said Moore. "Our thoughts are with everyone within the path of the Hurricane."
The nationwide Comeback Trail 5K run/walk series raises funds to support programs and services provided by National Stroke Association; the only national Association 100% focused on education and support for all impacted by stroke.
