Huron Capital's Fire & Security Services Platform Announces New Board Member
Sciens Building Solutions is Huron Capital's Latest ExecFactor® Initiative
DETROIT, Jan. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Huron Capital Partners ("Huron Capital") today announced it has added industry executive Mark Levy to the Board of its holding company, Sciens Building Solutions ("Sciens").
"Mark is extremely well-respected in the fire industry and has had a long and successful career working with businesses in this space. We are delighted to welcome him to our team as we build our North American platform, which is focused on delivering exceptional customer service and specialized capabilities within the fire and security segments," said Terry Heath, CEO of Sciens Building Solutions.
"As building systems become smarter and more integrated, customers will have a greater reliance on their service providers. We believe our strategy will help customers realize the value of an integrated solution while protecting their assets and their people. Mark is an invaluable addition to the team – he has the rare combination of experience running a small, family-owned business as well as a multi-billion dollar division of a large corporation," said Jim Mahoney, Partner at Huron Capital.
Levy most recently served as President and CEO of Honeywell Life Safety (HLS), a strategic business unit of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). Mark grew HLS from $350 million of annual revenue to nearly $4 billion by focusing on innovation, customer service and manufacturing excellence. Through organic growth and acquisitions, HLS expanded well beyond its roots in commercial fire alarm systems to become the largest business in Honeywell's ACS group, and evolved into a global and trusted leader across complementary life safety sectors.
Mark's career has spanned more than 35 years. He began at Fire-Lite Alarms, Inc., a modest, 25-employee family business, which Mark built into a highly successful and fast growing organization. In 1984, he sold Fire-Lite to the Pittway Corporation of Chicago, Illinois, a long time Fire-Lite customer.
"Huron Capital and Sciens Building Solutions are a great fit for this opportunity and I'm looking forward to establishing a North American platform that is focused on customer intimacy, high quality service and delivering value," added Levy.
Sciens Building Solutions will target companies with the following parameters but all relevant acquisition opportunities will be considered:
- Companies with a core focus on providing fire detection and security services to commercial buildings (including high tech, bio tech, and multi-tenant, among others), universities, hospitals, and other large, non-residential buildings
- Strong financial performance with annual revenue of at least $10 million
- Geography: U.S. and Canada
