Huntsville, AL Police Department Adopts Panasonic Technology

"We're thrilled to be working with Panasonic as our body worn camera provider," said Mark McMurray, Chief of the Huntsville Police Department, which has three police precincts and 427 sworn officers. "We have been using their Arbitrator in-car cameras, and evidence management system since 2010 and adding the body worn cameras was an easy transition since our officers already understand and know the system. This decision is already allowing us to institute the new equipment quickly, helping the community to be a safer place."

The Huntsville Police Department has purchased 360 of the cameras and Panasonic's advanced Unified Evidence Management solution to ensure that video is easy to access when necessary.

The Huntsville Police Dept. has received full training on the Arbitrator system. The agency plans to have all of their uniformed officers equipped with Arbitrator Body Worn Cameras by the end of May, and a majority are already using them.

In addition to Huntsville, Panasonic is installing or has contracts to install body worn camera solutions at multiple law enforcement agencies across the country. Panasonic holds more than a 25% market share for law enforcement video evidence systems.
