Huntington Hospital Announces New and Returning Board Members

PASADENA, Calif., Feb. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Huntington Hospital announced today the election of three members to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2016. Bill Bogaard has been elected as a new board member and Ellen Lee and David Kirchheimer have been elected as returning board members.

Bill Bogaard has just completed 16 years as Pasadena's first directly elected mayor. Previously, he was Executive VP and General Counsel of First Interstate Bancorp, a financial service company.  He also was engaged in a corporate securities law practice as a partner in a Los Angeles law firm.  In 1987, the Los Angeles Bar association honored him as Outstanding Corporate Counsel. In 1997, he received the Arthur Noble Award, Pasadena's most prestigious recognition for community service. Bill graduated from Loyola Marymount University and the Michigan Law School and he served as a Captain in the U.S Air Force in Los Angeles and Casablanca, Morocco. He is a Board Member of the Pasadena Community Foundation and he serves as chairman of Pasadena Bioscience Collaborative, a life sciences incubator and workforce development program. He and his wife, Claire, a founder of Pasadena Heritage, are parents of four children.

Returning to the Huntington Hospital board of directors is Ellen Lee. Ellen has served as a Director of Huntington Hospital, Inc. and Pasadena Hospital Association, Ltd. She is a retired residential real estate broker and former clinical nutritionist. Ellen is a Member of the Blue Ribbon supporting the Music Center and participates in volunteer activities for school children in the Los Angeles School District. Also, she currently serves on the Board of Counselors of the Roski School of Art and Design at USC.  Ellen graduated with high honors from California State University, Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition. She and her husband, David, live in San Marino and have three children. 

Also returning to the Huntington Hospital board of directors is David Kirchheimer. David has served as Oaktree Capital Management's Chief Financial Officer since its founding in 1995 and as a member of the board of directors of Oaktree's publicly owned entity since the company's initial public offering in 2012. He is responsible for Oaktree's accounting, tax, treasury, finance, investor relations and related activities. David started his career in the audit practice of PwC. His experience includes serving as executive vice president and CFO at Republic Pictures Corporation, a publicly-held entertainment company. David, who is a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant, graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Economics from Colorado College and earned an M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chicago. He and his wife, Sherry, are longtime residents of La Canada Flintridge, where they raised their three children.
