Huntington Bank Announces Investments in United Housing, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis to Support Families and Future Growth

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Huntington National Bank (Huntington) today announced $300,000 in community investments from the Huntington Bank Community Foundation supporting affordable housing, financial education and career readiness in Memphis. The commitment includes a $250,000, multi-year investment in United Housing to expand access to affordable housing opportunities for Memphis-area families and a $50,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis to support workforce readiness programming for local youth.

The $250,000 three-year commitment to United Housing will support programs serving individuals and families earning less than 80% of the area's median family income. Funding will help provide down payment and closing cost assistance, along with homebuyer education and counseling services designed to help more families become homeowners.

United Housing provides quality housing opportunities to residents through financial coaching, mortgage lending, homebuilding and renovations, and partnerships that help strengthen neighborhoods and increase access to affordable housing. In its most recent annual reporting period, the organization assisted nearly 800 individuals and families.

Huntington Bank Community Foundation's investment represents its commitment to making people's lives better and strengthening the communities it serves. It builds on years of partnership between United Housing and Cadence Bank, which became part of Huntington when the combination was completed in February 2026. Bank colleagues are involved with United Housing through program sponsorships, volunteering, board service and first-time homebuyer education and seminars.

Huntington's commitment to affordable housing is a core pillar in its broader community development strategy. Across its markets, the bank makes investments in affordable housing developments and works with local partners to connect families with programs, products, tools and resources to help them prepare for homeownership and build long-term financial stability.

Huntington Bank Community Foundation is also investing in the future workforce through a $50,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis. The funding will support the Juice Plus+ Technical Training Center, a dedicated after-school learning and training facility where young people build technical and life skills through direct instruction in culinary arts, logistics, automotive technology, welding and IT, as well as interview techniques, personal goal setting, money management and customer service.

"Growing up, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Memphis was an integral part of my life that ultimately helped me to become successful," said Shannon A. Brown, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis board member and chief executive officer of Action Logics. Brown retired from FedEx Express as senior vice president, eastern division of U.S. operations, and chief diversity officer. He also is a retired Cadence Bank board director.

The grant builds on the bank's longstanding partnership with the organization and the Juice Plus+ Technical Training Center, including financial literacy classes and the Money Matters program at the Center, and will help fund industry-recognized certifications for students participating in workforce development pathways. Bank leaders and colleagues have supported the organization through local board and committee leadership, colleague volunteerism at club events, annual fundraising efforts and hands-on involvement in activities that support the club's operations and initiatives across the region.
