Hunter Wise Managing Director Daniel McClory Receives Honorary Doctorate, Addresses Commencement at Eastern Michigan University Last Sunday

IRVINE, Calif. and YPSILANTI, Mich., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Hunter Wise Financial Group, LLC is pleased to announce that Managing Director Daniel McClory has received an Honorary Doctorate in Public Service from Eastern Michigan University and addressed its morning commencement ceremony last weekend.

Mr. McClory spoke with great pride for his "Eastern Michigan experience" in his address http://www.emich.edu/video/index.php?v=mcclory  and saluted the successful graduates from a variety of different backgrounds, countries, religions and ethnic groups.  He urged the graduates to "never forget where you came from."

A Detroit native, Dan graduated from Eastern Michigan University, earning a BS in English and a MA in Language and International Trade, and was a three-time captain of the school's NCAA Division I varsity cross country team. He was also named an Outstanding Young Alumnus of EMU and "Eastern Man of the Year" in 2010.  Mr. McClory's recent honorary degree and Commencement Address come exactly 10 years after President Bill Clinton earned similar honors from EMU. Mr. McClory's 2008 gift of $1,000,000 to the Eastern Michigan University Men's and Women's Track and Cross Country programs was the largest contribution in EMU Athletic Department history. He serves as a Trustee on the Board of the EMU Foundation, and is a member of the Steering Committee for Eastern's $50 million "Invest. Inspire." capital campaign.

Mr. McClory is a Director of the USA Track & Field Federation Foundation Board, which is chaired by Nasdaq OMX CEO Bob Greifeld. The USATFF Foundation, headquartered in Indianapolis, provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging athletes and anti-doping education. Dan is a member of the Youth Committee of the Foundation and also serves on the USATFF's Business Development Committee for the national governing body.

For the last seven years, Mr. McClory has served as managing director for Hunter Wise Financial Group, LLC in Irvine, California, which provides mid-market investment banking services from offices in the U.S., the United Kingdom, China and Canada.  He leads the Hunter Wise Small Cap Equities practice, which has assisted more than 50 American, Chinese and European companies in finding growth capital through the public markets, and is ranked in the Top Ten placement agents for PIPE transactions by PlacementTracker's league tables.  Mr. McClory was among the first investment banking professionals to be awarded the prestigious Corporate Finance Qualification sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
