Hundreds of Religious Jews to Protest Outside RFR Realty in Stamford, CT
STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- This Tuesday, September 7th, hundreds of Religious Jews will gather outside the Stamford, CT offices of RFR Realty to express outrage at the company's refusal to stop destroying ancient Jewish graves in historical Jaffa, Israel.
RFR Realty is building a luxury hotel on the grounds of an ancient graveyard. Proposals have been suggested that would allow the construction to continue while preserving the ancient burial grounds. Although the Israeli partner in the construction is open to methods of preserving the graves, RFR has refused to consider any of the proposals and refuses to meet with organizations involved in preserving ancient burial grounds, sparking outrage and condemnation from Jews worldwide.
The demonstrators will have one message for RFR and its owner Aby Rosen: "Preserve the ancient graves!"
The protest is being organized by The Central Rabbinical Congress of The United States & Canada, an organization representing hundreds of thousands of religious Jews, as well as many rabbis and congregations in North America.
The demonstration follows a similar one last month, where over 10,000 protesters demonstrated in front of RFR's main headquarters in New York City.
Jews worldwide have held numerous protests to express outrage at the destruction of graves belonging to ancient ancestors.
