Hundreds of properties sold in one week of John Dixon & Associates auctions

ATLANTA, July 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- More than $6 million worth of real estate sold last week in a trio of John Dixon & Associates auctions, as the company took on the challenge of selling more than 400 bank-owned properties stretching from North Carolina to New Orleans to South Florida.

The effort included two live auctions in Tampa and Atlanta, as well as an online-only auction for real estate scattered around Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and Indiana.

"In the live auction on Tuesday in Florida, we had about 70 properties located throughout the state, from Fort Lauderdale to the Emerald Coast. On Wednesday, we kept an eye on the online auction as it closed, and on Thursday, back in our offices in Atlanta, we sold the properties in Georgia and North Carolina. To say the least, it was a busy week," said John Dixon, president of the auction company.

"These auctions represented some extraordinary staff work by our folks. There were a lot of logistics in selling this many properties over such a wide geographic range. We organized the properties into 177 offerings, and our staff put in many long hours just getting detailed information on the properties, advertising and putting together the catalogs," said Dixon.

The company now turns its attention to the next set of challenges, including the sale of four rural Georgia properties – among them the sale of 366 acres in Dooly County, and 223 acres in Wilcox County. "These properties include excellent land suited for use as pasture, cropland and tree farming, and we're excited to be offering them," said Dixon.
