Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC Retained by PN Hoffman/Madison Marquette to Advise on Sale of Southwest Waterfront Hotel Development Site
MCLEAN, Va., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC announces that it has been retained by Hoffman-Madison Waterfront, the master developer of The Wharf on the Southwest Waterfront, to market the sale or joint venture of the luxury full-service 4-star/diamond hotel. The hospitality site is to be developed in Phase 1 of the 3+ million square feet mixed-use redevelopment project in the heart of Washington, D.C.
"We have spent a considerable amount of time and effort on assembling this large nationally recognized waterfront development and we are now ready to start the process of identifying the right developer, partner and brand that will enhance and complement the high-end mixed-use development planned for the District," said Lamont Hoffman, CEO of PN Hoffman. "We believe this is an incredible hotel site, and we want a truly distinctive hotel to be part of the unique mix of restaurants, entertainment and amenities that will make The Wharf one of Washington's most desirable neighborhoods, as well as a destination for visitors from around the country," added David Brainerd, Managing Director of Madison Marquette.
Leading the sales process for Humboldt Hospitality is Marc Magazine. He is a veteran in hospitality real estate sales with a successful national track record in hotel development. "This is a premier mixed-use project and truly unique in Washington, D.C.," said Magazine. "Considering how well D.C. is recovering from the economic downturn and the appetite for luxury full-service hotels in this town, we believe this opportunity provides one of, and possibly the only premier waterfront location. This location, combined with the amenities of a new world-class waterfront development, will be compelling for premium hotel developers and investors. We expect this to be a highly competitive process and anticipate that Hoffman-Madison will have outstanding choices for a quality hospitality partner," added Magazine.
The Southwest Waterfront redevelopment in Washington, D.C. encompasses approximately 26 acres of to-be-developed land and 26 acres of water rights in the heart of the District. It is situated on a 3/4-mile waterfront property on the Washington Channel of the Potomac River. The Project is one mile west of the new Washington Nationals Stadium and within walking distance of the National Mall, Verizon Center and the Central Business District. The redevelopment of the southwest waterfront is considered to be one of the most significant public-private real estate development projects in recent D.C. history. This world class waterfront, mixed-use development will offer retail, theatre, cultural, office and residential uses along with two marinas.
The developer is a partnership of local, regional, and national firms that specialize in complex urban mixed-use and waterfront developments. The team is lead by PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette.
