ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Humantech, Inc. is pleased to announce that Principal Consultant Walt Rostykus will be granted a Distinguished Fellow Award by The American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA). Rostykus will be recognized for his contribution to the industrial hygiene profession during its fourth annual Mark of Excellence Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, May 23rd at the 2018 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
According to AIHA President Deborah Imel Nelson, PhD, CIH, "The Fellow designation symbolizes a steadfast commitment to the industrial hygiene field and I take pride in honoring these extraordinary AIHA members."
Fellows are nominated by an individual, an AIHA local section, special interest group, committee, or other formal entity for their long-term achievements in the field. For 30 years as a certified industrial hygienist, Walt has supported the fields of industrial hygiene, environmental health, and occupational safety in a broad range of projects. "Among Walt's most recent contributions to the global industrial hygiene community is through his leadership in ergonomics. One project for AIHA was the development of the Ergonomics Program Guidance Document: Aligned with ANSI/AIHA Z-10-2005. The project received AIHA's 2007 Outstanding Project Team Award," says Humantech President James Good.
In addition, Rostykus assisted more than 75 global companies in developing and launching an ergonomics improvement process that aligned with their specific cultures, needs, and EHS management systems. "His efforts have positively impacted the health and safety of nearly 5 million employees, globally. Rostykus received a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington State University and a Master of Science degree in Public Health, with a focus on Industrial Hygiene and Safety/Environmental Health and Sanitation from the University of Washington. He is a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and has served as an Environmental Management System Lead Auditor.
