ANN ARBOR, Mich., Dec. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Humantech, workplace improvements experts, announced today the addition of a Risk Reduction Index to its flagship SaaS product, The Humantech System®, an all-in-one solution for managing ergonomics in production and assembly environments. The new management report enables software users to monitor leading, risk-based measures to drive the ergonomic improvement process. Leading measures (as opposed to lagging measures, like injury/illness rates) are indicators of problems or exposures that allow enough time to take corrective action before an injury or loss occurs.
"Our experience, research, and comprehensive benchmarking studies show that organizations that use leading measures to drive their ergonomics process are the most effective and successful. To help, we developed a way to track and show the activities results needed to gain support from their leadership," says Executive Vice President James Mallon.
The Risk Reduction Index tracks systems-based measures which include the percent of workstations or jobs at no or low risk and the percent reduction of MSD risk. These results indicate how well the ergonomic improvement process is being managed.
The Risk Reduction Index offers two measures to track progress:
- The Annual Target is a static model that shows the current process against a fixed reduction goal established at the beginning of the year.
- The Future Trend continually adjusts the targets as new job assessments are added. This report shows where the program was and where it is going.
