Humane Society Silicon Valley Holds Renewable Source of Happiness Pet Adoption Event
MILPITAS, Calif., May 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Going green? Meet your new best friend and adopt a renewable source of happiness at Humane Society Silicon Valley's (HSSV) Pet Adoption Event! Saturday, May 15 from 11 AM – 4 PM at HSSV's Animal Community Center, 901 Ames Ave., Milpitas.
More than 20 rescue groups and shelters will participate in this event, featuring dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and "pocket pets," such as guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats available for adoption. Additionally, HSSV will offer tips on how to "go green" with your pet and have environmentally-friendly toys and other products available to purchase in HSSV's Whole Pets Store.
"We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate HSSV's one-year anniversary as a leading environmentally-friendly Animal Community Center than to hold an event honoring the most renewable sources of happiness we know, our pets!" said Chris Benninger, HSSV president. "When you adopt a pet from any animal shelter or rescue group, you not only save the life of the pet you are adopting, but creating space for another animal to be brought in and adopted by another loving family."
With that in mind, HSSV invited the following animal rescue groups to join us with their animal companions:

Partnering in this pet adoption extravaganza are the Presenting Sponsors, PETCO Foundation and PETCO, and event sponsors: KBAY (94.5 FM) and KEZR (106.5 FM) radio stations, The WAVE Magazine, Milpitas Post and HSSV's official dog park "turf" provider Heavenly Greens.
HSSV's new Animal Community Center is the first environmentally "green" certified Center in the country to offer an Adoption Program with a full spectrum of pet and community services under one roof: A Medical Center specializing in affordable spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping and testing services; A Dog Park; Doggie Daycare, Boarding, Training and Grooming services provided through A DOG's LIFE; An Education Center with programs for children and teens; A Community Room that can be rented by groups for meetings; and a Whole Pets store.
