MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) is "leading the pack" once again with its second-annual Holiday "Animal Arts" Craft Faire. The family-friendly and pet-friendly event will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., and Sunday, Dec. 5 from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at HSSV's Animal Community Center, 901 Ames Ave in Milpitas.
"We're celebrating the Magic of the Human-Animal Bond with holiday offerings for pet lovers and their furry friends," says Jeanne Wu, event organizer.
The event will feature dozens of vendors offering quality animal-themed arts & craft items, such as one-of-a-kind collars and leashes, totes, purses and bags, holiday cards, jewelry, and artwork.
Special Appearance by Artist Sonya Paz
Local artist Sonya Paz whose colorful murals brighten our dog adoption condos, will make a special appearance on Sunday. Sonya also designed the logo for our Walk 'n Wag t-shirts and will be signing and selling the t-shirts in her booth. The one-of-a-kind cubist infused pop artist will also be selling her new animal inspired holiday ornament, colorful watches, scarves, necklaces, magnets, greeting cards and other animal-themed gifts. A portion of the proceeds from Sonya's animal inspired artwork helps animals at Humane Society Silicon Valley!
In addition to dozens of vendor booths, guests will enjoy the sweet sounds of holiday music and smells of tempting holiday treats will fill the air as guests shop, sip hot chocolate, and stroll past gifts and adoptable cats, dogs and rabbits in their home-like environments.
Pet Photos with Santa!
Throughout the day, guests and their pets can get their photo taken with "Santa Paws" or in front of a holiday setting. On Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., popular Latin/Jazz guitarist Ray Soto will strum holiday tunes courtesy of Santana Row.
"The holiday season is a time we honor and cherish the ones we love. With all the unconditional love our pets give us every day, we think this is a perfect time to give a little something back to them," said Carol Novello, HSSV president.
Each year, HSSV cares for thousands of homeless animals until they can find them loving homes. "Every animal that comes through our doors is given veterinary care, a warm bed, nutritious food, and lots of TLC," Novello continued. "The public's generous donations to HSSV and their support of unique events like this animal arts craft faire help us continue our mission to save and enhance lives."
The Holiday "Animal Arts" Craft Faire is presented by PETCO and PETCO Foundation and is sponsored by Bay Woof, Heavenly Greens, KBAY radio, Santana Row, and the Milpitas Post.
