SHANGHAI, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hujiang EdTech ("Hujiang"), China's leading online education company, has forged a new partnership with Mario College ("Mario"), a Mandarin Chinese instruction institute in Shanghai, by making a strategic investment that is aimed at promoting Chinese values and culture through language education.
Hujiang's investment, totaling in the hundreds of millions of yuan, will be used by Mario to increase their teaching capacity and upgrade facilities. Mario College will set up instruction and research centers in European, American and Southeast Asian countries. It will work with local institutions to create teaching materials and instruction methods. All the courses and resources will be delivered via Hujiang's e-learning platform, HJCLASS (Hujiang Online Class, class.hujiang.com), and CCtalk, the company's interactive online teaching platform.
According to Arnold Fu, founder & CEO of Hujiang, "Our partnership with Mario further extends its curriculum and increases its appeal to a wider range of users. Hujiang also sees the ability of creating an educational system or model in Mario. After more than a decade in operation, Mario has developed its own methods of helping people learn Mandarin Chinese; they provide teaching methods and materials that are optimized for local cultures and needs. Its teaching system has been recognized by Pearson, the British multinational publishing and education company, which is a rare honor for institutions of its kind."
Zhihao Gan, CEO of Mario College, said that as the Chinese economy continues to grow, the importance of Mandarin Chinese is increasing and so is people's interest in learning it. "By partnering with Hujiang, Mario can make its courses more accessible through the online education giant's Internet expertise and resources. The partnership also widens our target audience from the age group of 25 to 45 to now include teenagers. More schools in countries that don't speak Chinese are adding Chinese to their foreign language curriculum, with some even making them mandatory."
