Hughes Executive to Address 28th AIAA International Communications Satellite Systems Conference on Infrastructure Protection
Session to Discuss Industry and Government Collaboration in Defending against Cyber Attacks
GERMANTOWN, Md., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, announced today that it will participate in the 28th American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) International Communications Satellite Systems Conference (ICSSC-2010).
Rajeev Gopal, PhD, senior director in the Defense and Intelligence Systems Division at Hughes, will participate in a panel discussion on "Protecting Critical Earth Terminal Infrastructure." Dr. Gopal will discuss the importance of protecting data carried over satellite technologies, as sensitive government and military information increasingly travels via these networks. The panel will address threats such as cyber attacks, jamming, disruption of tracking, telemetry and physical attacks, as well as how industry and government can work together to defend these attacks and mitigate the attackers' efforts.
