Hudson Institute Congratulates Christopher DeMuth on Receiving the 2017 Bradley Prize
DeMuth honored for contributions to conservative and free-market thinking
WASHINGTON, April 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hudson Institute congratulates Distinguished Fellow Christopher DeMuth for being awarded The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation's 2017 Bradley Prize. Tonight, he will receive the prize at an awards ceremony taking place at the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Sidney Harman Hall in Washington, D.C.
Christopher DeMuth is being honored with the Bradley Prize for his academic contributions to regulatory reform, safeguarding constitutional freedoms, and preserving the balance of legislative powers. A previous winner of the Bradley Prize includes Mitch Daniels, former Governor of Indiana and past President and CEO of Hudson Institute.
"Chris DeMuth is worthy of the Bradley Prize" said Kenneth Weinstein, President and CEO of Hudson Institute. "He has made signal contributions to the study of regulation and the rise of the administrative state – and the challenges both pose to constitutional governance. Moreover, Chris' tenure at AEI set the gold standard for think tank presidents by recruiting the highest quality policy intellectuals, and then nurturing them."
Prior to joining Hudson Institute, DeMuth was President of the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) from 1986-2008. He was raised in Kenilworth, Illinois, and attended Harvard College, and the University of Chicago Law School. He served in the administrations of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, in the first as a staff assistant working on urban and environmental policy, and as an administrator for regulatory affairs under Reagan. Following law school, he practiced regulatory and antitrust law with Sidley & Austin in Chicago and served as Lecturer in Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
