Hudson Institute Appoints Rajeev Chandrasekhar to Board of Trustees
Tech entrepreneur and Member of Indian Parliament joins Hudson's Board of Trustees
WASHINGTON, Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hudson Institute announced today that Rajeev Chandrasekhar has been appointed to the Institute's Board of Trustees.

Chandrasekhar currently serves as a Member of Parliament representing the State of Karnataka in the Upper House of the Indian Parliament. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he has served in parliament for three terms and was previously elected as an independent MP for two terms. Since joining parliament in 2006, his committee assignments have focused on informational technology, finance, defense, urban development, and anti-corruption. While serving as a MP and as president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chandrasekhar led efforts after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to establish the National Intelligence Grid and coordinate India's core security agencies.
Prior to entering politics, Chandrasekhar founded BPL Mobile, one of India's first major mobile network operators. After selling his majority stake in 2006, Chandrasekhar established Jupiter Capital, an investment and financial services firm specializing in emerging areas of technology, media and transportation investments. He is a passionate advocate of entrepreneurship and currently serves as Chairman of Jupiter Capital.
Earlier in his career, Chandrasekhar established the Namma Bengaluru Foundation, which supports civic values in the Bengaluru City; and the Flags of Honour Foundation, which focuses on the welfare of India's armed forces personnel and their families. He is a graduate of the Manipal Institute of Technology and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and is awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science by Visvesvaraya Technological University, India.
