Hudl Finds Key Players in Sports and Technology to Launch First 'Hudl 100'
The list features influential coaches, athletes and media, including Jay Bilas, Pete Carroll and more.
LINCOLN, Neb., Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hudl is thrilled to present its first ever Hudl 100, a list highlighting those who go above and beyond in spreading the company's three core principles: educate, celebrate and inspire.
Founded in 2006, Hudl is a sports video software company providing coaches, athletes and analysts with the tools to upload, analyze and share game and practice video for improved performance. Having worked with more than 3.5 million users over the past 10 years, the company chose to create the Hudl 100 as a way to acknowledge those who have made its mission possible.
"Plain and simple, we wouldn't be where we are as a company without the coaches pushing their respective sports further and further, athletes doing amazing things and programs across the globe taking a holistic approach to development and education," said Derek Hernandez, Content Marketing Lead at Hudl. "These groups deserved recognition and we're thankful we have the platform to share their stories."
Hudl turned to its own employees, as well as various contacts in the sports and technology industries, to collect nominations. The response was overwhelming, and a Hudl 1,000 wasn't beyond the realm of possibility. By limiting its inaugural list to 100, the team hopes to publish subsequent lists sometime in the near future, all with equally deserving candidates.
"The toughest part about the entire process was getting the list down to 100, since there are so many great stories out there," added Hernandez. "Talking to notable personalities like Jay Bilas and Tom Luginbill, and seeing them so excited about the feature was awesome. But hearing about the contributions from the coaches and teams not in the public eye made it even more worthwhile. That's why we do what we do."
The list is broken into seven categories organized by role:
- Coaches and Administrators
- Athletes
- Organizations and Associations
- Teams
- Data Analysts and Video Coordinators
- Sports Media
- Technology
The company's main goal in sharing this feature is to foster the conversation regarding the future of sports, encouraging local and national outlets to focus on those core principles - educate, celebrate, inspire - when creating stories of their own.
