HUD Reaches Major Acquisition Systems Modernization Milestone
Agency meets OMB guidance to move quickly and in budget to meet HUD business needs
DULLES, Va., April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Compusearch is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to implement an enterprise acquisition system pilot. This is the first step in successfully replacing HUD's outdated legacy system over the next year.
"As HUD modernizes its acquisition environment, we are working hard to meet OMB's mandate to show early success. We have accomplished our first goal of standing up a production quality acquisition pilot in just four months," said Compusearch CEO Reid Jackson.
"HUD's legacy system was not adequately serving users so we created a pilot system to start providing meaningful functionality right away," said Compusearch's HUD Program Manager C. Sue Jones. "We are excited because at this pace we are on target to implement an enterprise acquisition system by the end of the calendar year."
Compusearch is helping HUD replace its legacy acquisition system with a single, proven web-based PRISM solution that will execute the entire procurement cycle from pre-award planning to post-award closeout for all contract types and strategies enterprise-wide. The solution will be fully interoperable with HUD's core financial system, will deliver improved customer services, support improved visibility, transparency, and control over HUD resources, enhance management reporting, and optimize the productivity and performance of the agency's acquisition workforce and other users of the system.
