WASHINGTON, Jan. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary Sandra Henriquez will join Mayor Dave Bing to make an announcement regarding the Detroit Housing Commission, on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 2:25 p.m. The commission has been under federal receivership since 2005. Prior to the announcement, Assistant Secretary Henriquez and Mayor Bing will tour new public housing units at Emerald Springs, formerly Charles Terrace, that were built using HUD funds and other sources.
