Huawei to Upgrade Network for United Wireless

PLANO, Texas, Sept. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei, a leading global information and communication technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced that it has been selected by United Wireless to swap out the existing network and install its industry-leading SingleRAN wireless solution in Kansas to support the infrastructure needs of its customers.

According to the contract, Huawei's SingleRAN solution will include LTE and CDMA core technology to meet subscribers' increasing data service needs. With its rural landscape, telecommunications customers in Kansas are challenged by outdated networks that inhibit high-performance video streaming and fast web browsing. Huawei's simplified SingleRAN solution, packaged into one network, will ensure that customers are provided the flexibility to enjoy today's technology with the ability to scale for future advancements. Huawei will be wholly responsible for the new network, including installation, integration and commissioning new equipment.
