Huawei Elected to Ethernet Alliance Board of Directors

Senior Principal Engineer John D'Ambrosia to Serve as Chairman

PLANO, Texas, March 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- John D'Ambrosia, senior principal engineer at Huawei, will act as chairman of the board of directors for the Ethernet Alliance, a leading Ethernet awareness organization co-founded by D'Ambrosia and others 10 years ago. In addition to this role, he will also function as marketing chair until a suitable replacement is found.

The Ethernet Alliance is a global consortium of vendors, industry experts, and university and government professionals committed to the success and expansion of Ethernet technology. The organization works to accelerate market acceptance of Ethernet products, as well as foster collaboration between Ethernet and complementary technologies.

D'Ambrosia is a known Ethernet advocate, and works to further Ethernet's on-going evolution within his role at Huawei. D'Ambrosia also chairs the IEEE P802.3bs 400GbE Task Force, as well as the IEEE 802.3 Industry Connections Next Generation Enterprise / Data Center / Campus (ECDC) Ad Hoc, a forum for exploring new ideas for Ethernet standards, and is a member of the IEEE 802 Executive Committee. In 2013, D'Ambrosia was awarded the IEEE-SA Standards Medallion for his contributions to the development of electrotechnology standards; he was also inducted into the Light Reading Hall of Fame for his Ethernet work.
