Hualapai Indian Tribe Ventures To Chinese Grand Canyon In Spirit Of Bridging Cultures
PEACH SPRINGS, Ariz., May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Representatives from the Hualapai Indian Tribe and their corporate arm, Grand Canyon Resort Corporation, will travel east this summer to meet with a Chinese tourism delegation to build both cultural and business relationships between the Hualapai Nation and China.
The 10-day journey will take Hualapai Tribal members and other representatives to the Chinese province of Hubei (Hu-bay) where they will visit the Chinese Grand Canyon in the city of Enshi. Both parties will meet to discuss possible business opportunities and showcase the exciting aspects of both cultures such as song and dance.
"As our tourism destinations are very similar in nature, we are very eager to meet with the Chinese delegation to discuss best practices," said Jennifer Turner, Grand Canyon Resort Corporation CEO. "Not to mention, we are happy to bring a little bit of the Hualapai Nation to the city of Enshi."
The Enshi Grand Canyon has a total length of 67 miles with a total area of 115.8 square miles. The area also features a high walkway similar to the Skywalk at Grand Canyon West. Discussions with the Chinese partners began after the Hualapai investigated the idea of becoming a sister city with Enshi.
