This year's event will highlight business growth through sales and marketing, service management, operations, partnering with vendors and other subjects of interest to HTG members. More than 500 attendees from 250 HTG member companies will be represented, along with 60 vendors, many of them exhibiting and sponsoring for the first time such as Axcient, Rackspace, Symantec, Google, Eaton, Level Platforms and ESI. Microsoft will offer a track dedicated exclusively to their current SMB initiatives including SBS 2011, MultiPoint Server and Hyper-V virtualization, plus hands-on labs. Attendees can also enjoy an HP-sponsored game room, a popular event at past summits.
This year's pre-conference workshops will cover business continuity planning, mergers and acquisitions, and a presentation by Dr. Larry Little, Executive Director of The Enrichment Center, on improving business relationships based on his book "Make a Difference" about how to navigate, validate and lead others in professional and personal interactions.
"The 2011 Summit features some of the most technical content we've had in years thanks to Microsoft and other vendor supporters, as well as some of the most intimate and personal content we've offered yet thanks to Dr. Larry Little," said Arlin Sorensen, HTG founder and CEO. "The biggest challenges members tell us about – people, sales, and planning – will all be addressed this week, through valuable workshops and sessions."
In addition to the educational opportunities provided by HTG, each peer group will hold its quarterly meeting, consisting of HTG's unique member-to-member knowledge sharing format that allows members to take a proactive role in their own business development. HTG's newest peer group, HTG50+, consisting of over a half dozen companies that employ at least 50 employees, will meet for the first time.
Following individual group meetings, HTG members will volunteer at nearby Mission Arlington to assist with a school supplies drive benefiting 9,000 local children, and to sort and package food and clothing for distribution to people in the community.
