23 different HTG peer groups will be represented, for a total of more than 500 attendees including vendor sponsors, strategic partners and speakers. Breakout sessions, presentations, large and small group discussions will take place to address service delivery, profitability, and special focus areas including:
- Application Development: business concerns unique to solution providers involved in application development
- Managed Services: sharing ideas, building relationships and improving opportunities in managed services
- Cloud Computing: tools, opportunities, challenges and pitfalls of building and deploying cloud environments
- Healthcare IT: understanding and meeting the needs of customers in the health and medical community to seize the massive market opportunity
- Marketing: creating and strengthening marketing messages to get the phones ringing and inboxes overflowing with new opportunities
Over 40 exhibitors will be in the HTG Partner Pavilion, including first time vendor sponsors PAETEC, Intel, and CharTec. The HTG Vendor Peer Group, which launched in June, will hold its third meeting for member executives from CA Technologies, ConnectWise, eFolder, Great America Leasing, IBM, SonicWALL, Xerox, and Microsoft.
"Each year our HTG ALL & Q4 Meeting becomes more and more valuable to member company executives and vendor partners, and delivers more opportunities for networking and educational development," said Arlin Sorensen, HTG founder and CEO. "Being the best in the business comes from surrounding yourself with the best, and there's no better place than an HTG Peer Group to surround yourself with the very best."
HTG's unique member-to-member knowledge sharing format is an efficient, practical method that allows members to take a proactive role in their own business development. In addition to the educational sessions provided by HTG, each peer group will hold its quarterly two-day meeting consisting of quarterly business reviews, benchmarking analysis, evaluation of tools, development of plans, sharing of best practices and goal setting with an added focus on personal growth. This year, the plan that each member will develop and deliver during this meeting is intended to address their legacy and responsibilities to their family, employees and clients should something happen to them.
Over 200 HTG member companies will remain onsite to attend ConnectWise IT Nation 2010, a one-of-a-kind industry event drawing more than 1,000 ConnectWise partners and a vibrant channel community. HTG leaders will be on hand to conduct multiple breakout sessions and represent HTG as an exhibitor.
Members at the event will also hear from professors at the University of Nebraska-Kearney who are conducting innovative research into the impact of Industry Peer Networks, like HTG Peer Group, on members and the resulting ROI – basically addressing the question: Do peer groups matter? Preliminary findings point to the high level of trust that encourages learning in the groups, in addition to the positive financial results that come from information and contacts generated at HTG ALL events. The multi-year longitudinal study will be supplemented by onsite observation and interviews with members. Final results will be published in Q1 2011.
