Formed to address the unique needs of larger companies in the industry, membership in "HTG50+ powered by IT Nation" is distinct from other HTG peer groups in that the company's management team participates in the group, not just a representative such as the owner or a top executive. Specific areas of focus revolve around operations, sales, service delivery, HR, marketing and finance. Each quarter the CEO level executives meet, and twice yearly they bring certain representatives from their management team together as part of the interaction. Between meetings these role specific managers meet via teleconference to leverage learning from each other. This new model of peer management team to management team interaction will create a more effective way of transferring ideas between companies rather than expecting one person to carry all the ideas back to their team for execution.
ConnectWise, developer of the leading business management solution for IT service providers, VARs and MSPs, has helped HTG recruit members for the new group, all of whom use ConnectWise software to ensure consistent reporting of business and financial results during quarterly peer group meetings.
"Larger firms have distinct advantages as well as challenges in strategic planning, finance, corporate culture, human resources, marketing and business development," said Arlin Sorensen, founder and CEO of HTG Peer Groups. "At a time when our industry is evolving rapidly, HTG50+ powered by IT Nation, backed by the expertise of ConnectWise and the support of colleagues, provides these members with all the benefits of the peer group model."
In addition, Cisco, Intel, and Varvid, Inc., a leader in internet-delivered video for the information technology industry, have joined HTG-V1, the industry's first peer group for IT vendor executives which HTG formed in early 2010. Other new groups formed in the last year include its first peer group in Australia, its 23rd North American group, and a CEO Forum that convenes twice a year.
