NEW YORK, Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For the eighth consecutive year, Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) has been ranked the No. 1 hospital in the country for orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report "Best Hospitals 2017-2018" survey. HSS has also been recognized as a leader in rheumatology, ranking No. 3 in the nation.

U.S. News evaluates more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. In the 16 specialty areas, 146 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty.
