HRG Launches Industrial Robotics Tutorial App to Better Prepare the Workforce
HARBIN, China, Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- HIT Robot Group ("HRG Robotics" or "the Group"), one of China's leading manufacturer of robots, unveiled an industrial robotics tutorial application, "Haidu Academy", helping learners of different levels to improve their industrial robot-operating skills on various brands.
China is the largest and fastest-growing robot market in the world. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in the first seven months of 2017, 71,600 industrial robots were produced in China, accounting for more than 30 percent of global output during the period. Statistics also suggest an increasing demand for skilled workers. The Ministry predicts that China will need 200,000 skilled workers to operate industrial robots as of 2020.
"We offer an educational platform for people to find value and improve their skills. We also want to create a place where our industrial robot peers will be able to promote their brands and products," said Zhang Mingwen, Vice President of HRG Robotics.
HRG Robotics has made efforts to accommodate the emerging robotic talent development market. It has created a comprehensive educational system for industrial robots with self-study tutorials, learning systems, and brick-and-mortar training schools in a range of Chinese cities, including Shenzhen, Hefei, Chongqing, Changsha, and Yangzhou.
The company also has partnered with a wide array of renowned companies, domestic and abroad, to explore new educational approaches, such as designing training programs and educational materials for specific robot products, organizing competitions that promote advanced robotic technologies, and building connections with academic institutes and corporations to find and develop talent for the industry. Such events include:
- In 2016, HRG Robotics teamed up with ABB to hold the first industrial robot stimulation competition that targeted college students. The 2017 competition application is now open.
- A one-week training and competition program for industrial robot professionals will kick off on September 23. HRG Robotics and FANUC are jointly providing training for contestants.
HRG Robotics calls for more international cooperation in industrial robot education. "We will continue to explore new business development opportunities with our partners who have interest to invest in the Chinese market," said Zhang.
