HR Industry Veteran Mark Fogel Joins Marcum as Chief Human Resources Officer

MELVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Marcum LLP, one of the largest independent public accounting and advisory services firms in the nation, today announced that it has hired Mark Fogel as its Chief Human Resources Officer. Mr. Fogel will oversee the human resources function across Marcum's 23 offices, with a focus on talent recruitment and retention and further enhancing the firm's recognized training programs. Mr. Fogel joins Marcum at a critical point in its ongoing national expansion plans and will be instrumental in assuring the seamless integration of Marcum's resources and talent.

Mr. Fogel is Long Island's most decorated senior human resources executive and a recipient of multiple human resources leadership and innovation awards nationally, including the Society for Human Resources (SHRM) Human Capital Leader of the year award and HR Executive Magazine Honor roll designation. Prior to joining Marcum, Mr. Fogel was the Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc. where he had global oversight supporting a population of over 9,500 employees worldwide. His previous experience also includes working in Human Resources and Operations for the Limited Inc. and Macy's.
In addition, Mr. Fogel is also a recognized content expert and conference speaker on enrichment programs, scorecards and HR business alignment, who is committed to coaching and leadership development at the C-suite level as a 360 degree and Myers-Briggs facilitator.
Mr. Fogel earned a master's degree from Adelphi University and a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Mr. Fogel currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, the advisory board for the business school at Molloy College and is an adjunct professor at Adelphi University's graduate school of business. He holds the professional designation of SPHR (senior professional in HR) and GPHR (global professional in HR) and is one of only approximately 600 HR professionals globally with both designations.
