Hoyos Labs Strengthens Scientific Team with Two New Hires Prior to New Technology Debut at CES 2014
Company Appoints Dr. Scott Streit as Chief Computer Scientist and Dr. Boris Kravtsov as Chief Computer Vision Scientist
NEW YORK, Dec. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hoyos Labs, a recently launched digital infrastructure security company, today announced that Dr. Scott Streit and Dr. Boris Kravtsov have joined the Company as Chief Computer Scientist and Chief Computer Vision Scientist, respectively. The Company has added these new talents to bolster its technology team and further develop its identity assertion platform.
As Hoyos Labs puts the final touches on its soon-to-be-announced secure identity assertion platform that seeks to end identity theft and corporate hacking, Dr. Streit and Dr. Kravtsov will lead an executive team that consists of computer vision, big data and biometrics experts, with more than 100 years of combined experience.
Dr. Streit is a computer scientist who specializes in semantic web, cloud computing and relational database processing. He has solved processing problems for major national and international corporations, bringing a deep knowledge of technology and infrastructure services to Hoyos Labs. Dr. Streit has also led projects for the Apache Foundation and U.S. government. As the Chief Computer Scientist for Hoyos Labs, he will architect and engineer Hoyos Labs' new identity assertion platform, overseeing the front- and back-end of the technology, as well as the Amazon Web Service (AWS) and clients' enterprise systems. Dr. Streit completed his doctorate at Villanova University, where he specialized in semantic web persistence.
Dr. Kravtsov also has a long-standing career in technology, specializing in computer vision. As the Company's Chief Computer Vision Scientist, he will lead the Recognition System Division at Hoyos Labs, which deals with image processing and the technology's "liveness" component on the front-end. Previously, Dr. Kravtsov developed defense and security products and applications, including hand recognition technology for access control and time attendance, as well as a family of PC applications that utilize face recognition technology to enhance information security. Dr. Kravtsov completed his doctorate at the University of Odessa, completing post-graduate courses in the field of pattern recognition.
