HOYA ConBio Receives Clearance to Market RevLite and DermaSculpt in Brazil
Lasers Enter Country With Strong, Growing Aesthetic Industry
FREMONT, Calif., March 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HOYA ConBio, a global leader in aesthetic and dental lasers, today announced the RevLite and DermaSculpt lasers have received regulatory clearance to be marketed in Brazil. The aesthetic lasers will make their debut in that country at the 23rd Congress of the Brazilian Society of Dermatological Surgery in Curituba, April 6-11th.
"Our entry into Brazil is an exciting milestone for our aesthetic lasers and reinforces our commitment to extend the global footprint of our corporation," said Timothy Gehlmann, President and CEO, HOYA ConBio. "Given Brazil's strong reputation as a leader in the cosmetic industry, we are confident aesthetic practitioners will embrace the premium engineering and science-based legacy of the RevLite and DermaSculpt lasers."
The RevLite is the latest evolution of the gold-standard Q-Switched Nd: YAG technology pioneered by HOYA ConBio 20 years ago. Valued worldwide for its PhotoAcoustic energy and flat-top beam profile, the RevLite features a proprietary setting that harnesses up to 60 percent more power than its standard mode, clinically shown to be more effective in skin rejuvenation procedures. In addition to its benefits in anti-aging therapies, the RevLite's versatile platform is also used for multi-color tattoo removal, treatment of epidermal and dermal pigment issues (including melasma), and hair removal (especially dark vellus facial hair).
The DermaSculpt Er: YAG offers three distinct modes that allow practitioners to leverage the clinical safety of the Erbium wavelength for a variety of customized skin resurfacing procedures. Using one of three handpieces, the DermaSculpt offers a Polish Peel for traditional ablative resurfacing of deep wrinkles and scars; a Sculpturization scanner for fractionated light to deeper treatment of fine lines and photo damage; and a Chisel Touch handpiece for pinpoint treatment of cutaneous lesions.
