Howard Alan Events Returns to Jacksonville with a Troupe of Top Local and National Artists
Transforming Mandarin Community Club into an Outdoor Art Gallery
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Howard Alan Events returns to Jacksonville to produce the 42nd Annual Mandarin Art Festival held Easter Weekend, April 3 – 4, 2010. This event, a favorite among locals, will be bigger and better than ever with an eclectic mix of the country's top established artists as well as new and emerging talent. The Mandarin Community Club will be transformed into a top notch outdoor art gallery with $15 million in art on display. This art extravaganza appeals to all festival goers with its children's art show, a one-of-a-kind green market, as well as an egg hunt for a fun and family friendly Easter weekend event.
The artists, local merchants, restaurants and hotels all benefit from the festival, which drives additional guests and dollars to the community. Howard Alan, founder of Howard Alan Events, advocates the importance of supporting the arts and artists because this in turn helps the local economy. "Art is a tangible investment that you can enjoy as it appreciates in value," explains Alan. He admits that while people may be more conservative in their buying habits, holding off on exotic vacations and new cars, they are still treating themselves to jewelry and art.
The artists will line the Mandarin Community Club with their gallery style display booths and will be present for the duration of the show. The art festival affords the public a wonderful opportunity to meet and speak with the artists about their creations and inspiration.
The artists were juried by an independent panel of expert judges, and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. The artistic media represented include paintings, life size sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics. All of the artwork is original and handmade. The Mandarin Art Festival makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures.
