Analyst Update: Results, Structural Changes, Agreements, and Corporate Statements

U.S. stocks tumbled on Thursday as Fed remained apprehensive about the interest rate outlook amid weaker than expected US first quarter economic data. The NASDAQ Composite was down 1.64%, to finish at 4941.42; the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 1.08%, to 17,840.52, and the S&P 500 ended 1.01% lower, at 2,085.51. Most importantly, the NASDAQ biotech index dropped 3.05% on Thursday and was down 8.1% in the past one week, led by disappointing earnings. European stocks gained on Thursday, supported by the strong euro and news of euro bloc's recovery from four consecutive months of deflation. Germany's DAX 30 rose 0.19%; France's CAC 40 jumped 0.14%, and the London's FTSE 100 closed 0.21% higher. Meanwhile, Asian markets mostly disappointed on Thursday. Japan's Nikkei, Australia's S&P ASX and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index all fell on Thursday.
According to a news article published on The Wall Street Journal on April 28, 2015, Intel Corporation (Intel) is reorganizing its operations responsible for helping the Company foray into new products. It is seen as a move that would likely change the role of a prominent executive who led the chip maker's push into wearable devices.
Endurance International Group Holdings, Inc. (Endurance) on April 28, 2015 issued a statement in response to a report published by an independent research firm Gotham City Research saying that the claims of the report are baseless and not rooted in reality.
Nokia Corporation (Nokia) quashed rumors surrounding its return to the mobile business once again based on comments incorrectly attributed to a Nokia Networks executive that the Company was in talks with a research and development facility in China for the development of the handset devices.
Cisco Systems, Inc. (Cisco) on April 21, 2015 announced that it has entered into an agreement with Altice to deploy a next-generation converged cable access platform (CCAP) across its multi-country footprint, with the first rollouts starting in France.
Facebook, Inc. (Facebook) reported its first quarter results on April 22, 2015, with revenue, adjusted operating income and adjusted net earnings rising from the corresponding last year quarter. Revenues for the quarter came in at $3.54 billion, representing an increase of 42% from $2.50 billion in last year's corresponding quarter.
