Houston Technology Center Introduces HTC Asia

HOUSTON, July 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- HTC-Asia is a private, for-profit venture and will focus on bringing HTC clients and graduate companies to the attention of HTC-Asia's corporate sponsors, while also bringing Asian-based technology start-up companies to the Houston market.

This cooperative working relationship will showcase Houston as the hub for emerging technology on a global scope.

HTC promotes economic development throughout the greater Houston area, and this new relationship will further showcase Houston as a Global Hub for emerging technology. This new venture will introduce HTC Client Companies to HTC-Asia sponsors and investors, while also introducing Asian-based emerging technologies to HTC and its Sponsors. HTC-Asia launched in 2013, and is sponsored by large corporate entities from Singapore, India, Thailand, India and The Philippines. In 2015 the regional focus will expand to include South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia.

This new relationship has already started producing benefits, with HTC-Asia bringing its first emerging technology company from India, to establish a U.S. research and development presence in Houston. HTC-Asia will host regular emerging technology forums, where invited Asian entrepreneurs introduce their start-up technologies, with the first such forum set for 4th Quarter 2014 in Bangkok.

In April, the recently launched HTC-Asia, graciously donated $50,000 to the Houston Technology Center to assist us in our mission, to promote economic development in the Greater Houston area.

HTC-Asia, headquartered in Singapore, was officially launched in 2013. It is sponsored by large corporate entities from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India and The Philippines, with a strategy to expand the regional focus in 2015 to include South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Indonesia.
