Bill J. Kacal Brings Business Management and Counsel to Goodwill
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Goodwill Industries International Board of Directors has elected Bill J. Kacal of Houston, TX, as its new chair, to serve a one-year term. Kacal took office during the annual Goodwill® Delegate Assembly, which was held in June in Tacoma, WA.

Kacal is a certified public accountant and has been with Deloitte & Touche LLP for nearly 40 years where he is currently a senior partner. He is a member of the Deloitte & Touche Board of Directors and is currently the deputy regional managing partner for Mid America Audit. Kacal is currently the chairman of the board for Goodwill Industries® of Houston and previously served as the vice chairman for the Goodwill Industries International Board of Directors.
During his service, Kacal has led Goodwill executives and boards to incorporate risk assessment outcomes into their strategic planning processes. As the former chair of Goodwill Industries International's Strategic Issues Planning Committee, he helped Goodwill gain a level of insight into the risks facing independent Goodwill member agencies that had never before existed, while continuing to protect the brand and grow Goodwill's mission.

In 2007, Kacal was awarded the Goodwill Industries International Board Volunteer of the Year Award. Kacal has served as a role model and has had a positive impact on Goodwills both locally and nationally.
In addition to Goodwill Industries International's Board of Directors, Kacal currently serves as executive committee and chairman of the audit committee for the Boy Scouts of America – Sam Houston Area Council. He also serves as a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors – TriCities Board of Directors. He earned his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University.
