Houston Attorney Dara Hegar Highlighted Among Texas' Top Young Lawyers

HOUSTON, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lanier Law Firm is pleased to announce that accomplished firm attorney Dara Grisbee Hegar has been singled out as one of the state's top young lawyers in the 2011 Texas Rising Stars listing. This marks the fifth year Ms. Hegar has earned the distinction.

Ms. Hegar is featured in the latest Rising Stars edition for her general litigation work. She represents both individuals and companies in a wide variety of cases, including toxic torts, asbestos exposure, serious personal injuries and complex commercial litigation.

Ms. Hegar recently was named Managing Attorney of The Lanier Law Firm's Houston office, where she is responsible for day-to-day operations and coordinating the firm's complex litigation matters.

She earned her law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law, and her Masters in International Relations from St. Mary's University. She earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University.

To compile the annual Rising Stars list, researchers with Thomson Reuters' legal division solicit nominations from attorneys across the state, asking them to identify the best practicing attorneys in Texas age 40 or younger, and those who have been practicing for 10 years or less. The nominees are then reviewed by a blue-ribbon panel of lawyers. Fewer than 2.5 percent of all Texas lawyers earn the Rising Stars distinction.

This year's Rising Stars listing appears in the April 2011 issues of Texas Monthly magazine and Texas Rising Stars magazine.
