DALLAS, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time to help save money and make Thanksgiving travel easier, the Hotels.com® Thanksgiving Sale is treating travelers to free breakfast. Travelers that book now until November 25, for travel between November 22 - 29, will receive complimentary breakfast from thousands of participating national chains like Marriott, Hilton, Choice and LaQuinta. All bookings will be eligible for welcomerewards® credits, an industry leading loyalty rewards program from Hotels.com.
"Traditionally the Thanksgiving holiday is one of the busiest and more expensive times to travel," says Taylor L. Cole, APR, director of public relations for Hotels.com. "We want to thank travelers this holiday season by offering an opportunity to save a little extra with a stay at over 6,000 possible properties that are treating their guests to complimentary breakfast with our Thanksgiving Sale."
Thanksgiving Traditions
It isn't Thanksgiving unless there are three key traditions involved: turkey, parades and football. Gather the family and go experience first-hand the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City while staying at Crowne Plaza Times Square for $239 a night. If the parade leaves you wanting more entertainment, bundle up and head towards the Meadowlands Stadium to catch the evening game between the New York Jets and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Enjoy a free breakfast at the Palomar Chicago , a Kimpton Hotel, before seeing the Chicago's McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade. Rooms go for as low as $179 a night at this four star property in Chicago's Near North Side neighborhood. The latest Hotels.com® Hotel Price Index™ (HPI®) study reports that Chicago hotels saw no rise in room rates from 2009 to 2010. This hotel is also close to famous Chicago landmarks such as the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower and Millennium Park.
Enjoy crisp fall days and colonial charm while experiencing where the Thanksgiving holiday started. Take a short drive south from Boston to Plymouth to witness the Pilgrim's Progress Parade and visit the Plimoth Plantation museum's historical sites. Head back to Boston to relax at the 4-star Boston Omni Parker House Hotel. Open since 1855, the property recently underwent a $30 million restoration and renovation. Rooms start at $144 a night and have been recommended by 91% of past guests.
Thanksgiving Alternatives
Before heading to mountain resorts to ski or snowboard this Thanksgiving, acclimate with a night in Denver at Residence Inn by Marriott Denver Downtown. 97% of hotels.com customers gave positive hotel reviews for the Residence Inn by Marriott Denver Downtown which has rates starting at $99 a night and includes a full complimentary breakfast. Tour Denver's Downtown Aquarium, the Molly Brown House or the Children's Museum of Denver, or catch a Nuggets basketball game or watch the Avalanche play hockey.
Looking to escape relatives and cold weather this Thanksgiving? Add a Cajun twist and head to New Orleans to kick back on Bourbon Street. Travelers can savor a legendary New Orleans Thanksgiving dish -- turducken -- a Cajun creation that cooks a chicken inside of a duck inside of a turkey. Rooms at the three star Hotel St. Marie in the French Quarter start at $79.
If sun and sand sounds like the perfect getaway this holiday then slip down to Miami. For the best savings, stay at the beachfront, four and half-star Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel where rooms start at $263 and guests receive complimentary breakfast. In addition to beach chairs and umbrella rentals, guests can enjoy the 1,000 feet of coast behind the hotel by renting personal watercraft, surfboards and other equipment.
Black Friday
Some of the best stores and shopping are found in Beverly Hills. Start your Black Friday shopping along Rodeo Drive while staying at the four-star Thompson Beverly Hills. Starting at $165 a night, the property is only three blocks away from the best stores and restaurants in the town.
