CHICAGO, Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The nationwide Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Series is bringing its chocolaty goodness to Chicago on November 8 for the first official race of the series.
Known for its incredible post-race party and goodie bag, the Hot Chocolate Series is back with even more surprises. The 2015 goodie bag will include a luxurious, fleece-lined full-zip jacket and a reusable drawstring bag. In addition, all 15k finishers will receive a Finisher Medal. The medal is made from metal alloy shaped to resemble a chocolate bar with a gold plated wrapper designed specifically for the city. After completing the race, participants will receive a Finisher Mug with a rich dark Hot Chocolate, fondue and dippable snacks while enjoying a live DJ.
The Hot Chocolate 15k/5k will be taking place on Sunday, November 8, starting at 7am. Most relevant road closures will take effect Sunday morning in and around the streets of downtown Chicago, with some closures occurring as early as Saturday and as late as Sunday afternoon. Visit this page for a full list of road closures.
Kicking off at Grant Park, the race goes through the streets of downtown Chicago on a course that is USATF-sanctioned and designed to meet the highest quality standards. Runners can also share live race progress with family and friends through social media, and download free photos and videos of their finish after the events.
The event will also include the Walk for Little City. This is a 2-mile untimed walk that starts at 8:30am. Please note that Walk for Little City participants will enjoy a different start time, course, and finish line than the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k, but will enjoy the same goodie bag and post-race festivities.
