Hostway Helps Empower the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs With $10,000 Donation to Junior Achievement of Chicago
Gift to Educational Nonprofit to Help K-12 Students Achieve Financial Literacy, Work Readiness
CHICAGO, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A key player in the cloud and hosting services sector, Hostway understands the value of entrepreneurship, both as a fast-growing company in its own right and as a partner to tech sector innovators. That's why Hostway's recent $10,000 donation to Junior Achievement of Chicago makes sense: The gift to the educational nonprofit will help prepare the next generation of entrepreneurs to achieve great things in the global economy.
"Junior Achievement inspires young people and helps them succeed, which is an incredibly important mission," said Hostway CFO, Mark D. Adolph. "Through JA of Chicago, nearly half a million area students get hands-on knowledge of what it takes to start and grow a business and contribute their talent in the workplace. At Hostway, we're proud to give back to the community by helping this outstanding organization continue its heroic endeavor."
While giving back to the community has always been a key value at Hostway, the company's approach to gift-giving changed in 2012, when Hostway donated $10,000 to the Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. By getting involved in the Sandy relief effort, with Hostway employees helping families cope in the aftermath of the hurricane, the company played a role in a broader support effort that strengthened the entire community.
This new approach inspired the Hostway executive team to find other ways the team could be more directly involved in the giving process. In 2013, the company selected five excellent charitable organizations to highlight on the company's website and invited site visitors to vote for their favorite charity. Junior Achievement received the most votes and was selected for the $10,000 donation from Hostway.
"We are incredibly thankful for this generous gift from Hostway," said Tom Staab, Senior Vice President of Development, "The donation will enable us to deliver economic education programs to more than 400 additional children from all backgrounds and help them learn how to reach their dreams."
The other organizations included in the 2013 gift-giving program were Susan G. Komen Denver Metropolitan, National Girls Collaborative Project, Against Malaria Foundation and Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. Hostway is proud to support the mission of these worthy organizations as well and made a $1,000 donation to each runner-up charity.
As a part of the community, the Hostway team is thrilled to assist all of the organizations involved in the gift-giving program and congratulates Junior Achievement of Chicago on playing such a pivotal role in the lives of the children and teens who are involved in JA initiatives.
