Hostway Announces First Public Cloud Launched on Windows Server 2012 R2 Platform

HOUSTON, May 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TechEd North America 2014 -- Cloud hosting provider Hostway announced that the company has launched its early-adopter program for FlexCloud Platform R2, an upgraded public cloud platform based around the Microsoft Cloud Platform. The early-adopter launch was announced at TechEd North America 2014, where Hostway is exhibiting at Booth 1915.

FlexCloud Platform R2 is the next generation of Hostway's public cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering that has been used by thousands of customers worldwide. Among many enhancements, FlexCloud R2 features upgrades to the firewall, internal networking, SAN storage and virtualization technology. The public cloud platform has been redesigned for optimal performance with Microsoft System Center and Windows Server 2012 R2.  

Overall, the infrastructure upgrades will provide customers with three key benefits:

• Ability to Scale at 3x the Previous Rate – Additional servers, storage, virtual machines and improved firewall architecture provide greater scalability.
• 10x Increase in Speed – New internal networking enhances back-end communication and lowers latency.
• 2x Increase in VM Capacity – With the upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R2, vCPUs, memory and storage have been expanded.
