Hosted by AmCham South China, the 2017 APCAC Asia Pacific Business Summit Starts Today
GUANGZHOU, April 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) today announced at LN Garden Hotel the opening of the 2017 APCAC Asia Pacific Business Summit. The four-day event brings together more than 600 business and industry leaders, policy experts, and top government officials from U.S., China, and from across the Asia Pacific region.
As an "Economic Powerhouse" Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) represents 29 American Chambers of Commerce from 22 economies in Asia Pacific; 20,000 member companies; 50,000 overseas American executives; 10 million employees; USD620 billion in annual FDI management and USD1 trillion in annual trade.
Over the next four days, more than 100 international expert speakers will address issues of common concern including areas of opportunity for investments in Asia Pacific. On the first day of April 19th, all APCAC Executive Directors will engage in a closed-door meeting to discuss best corporate practices.
On the morning of the second day, April 20th, AmCham South China and Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province will jointly hold a plenary session which will be attended by senior Chinese national, provincial and city leaders; in the afternoon, the APCAC 2017 Business Summit will officially kick off with a grand opening, which will be attended by the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of U.S. Embassy in Beijing, Mr. David H. Rank, U.S. Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. Charles Bennett, AmCham South China President and APCAC Host, Dr. Harley Seyedin, and many other distinguished guests. On topics of finance, investment, tourism, immigration and the new U.S. administration, the afternoon continued with discussion panels involving CIFIT Organizing Committee, Government of Guam, Walmart, HSBC, Amway, Citigroup, Duff & Phelps, AIG, PayPal, Withers Worldwide, KKR, etc.
On the third day of April 21st, there will be all-day plenary sessions and discussion panels, where ambassadors and senior officials of Consulates General, representatives of cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Boston, U.S. and Chinese academic experts, and industry leaders including Times Industry, FedEx, Mead Johnson Nutrition, Caterpillar, and Rockwell Automation are scheduled to share their opinions in fields of FDI, manufacturing, automation, smart cities, IPR, e-commerce, logistics and human resource.
On the last day, some delegates are also invited to a trip to Shunde District, followed by the 2017 AmCham South China's Spring Gala Ball at Garden Hotel Guangzhou to celebrate a successful APCAC.
Hosted by AmCham South China, the 2017 Business Summit represents a unique opportunity for South China, especially Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan Provinces, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Hong Kong and Macau SAR to showcase their latest developments.
