Hospitality Job Board Hcareers Releases Q2 2013 Hospitality Hiring Report
Leisure and hospitality industry shows robust growth
DENVER, Aug. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Hcareers, the leading hospitality recruiting solution for providers and job seekers, released its Q2 2013 Hospitality Hiring Report. Job growth continues for the hospitality sector with an 8 percent increase in job openings from last quarter, a 25 percent increase over Q2 2012.
Other industry highlights from the report include: an increase in business travel, contributing to the creation of more travel-related hospitality jobs; new construction resulting in hotel/resort job growth; the Affordable Care Act and aging Baby Boomer generation contributing to an increased demand for health and age-related hospitality services; and perhaps most notably, the U.S. hotel industry's occupancy rate increasing 64.6 percent since Q2 2012, the industry's highest second quarter occupancy rate since 2007.
"Hotel industry growth, especially the dramatic occupancy rate upturn, is likely a key factor in the 14 percent year over year increase in Hcareers hotel and resort job postings last quarter," said Bryan Sauder, Hcareers Product Director.
The most in demand non-management restaurant jobs this quarter – cashier, cook, host/hostess, waitress/waiter and bartender. In the hotel/resort sector (non-management) – housekeeper, front desk, cook, banquet services and waitress/waiter.
