Hospitality Job Board Hcareers Releases 2013 Hospitality Year in Review

DENVER, March 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Hcareers, the leading hospitality recruiting solution for providers and candidates, released its 2013 Hospitality Year in Review. In line with BLS data, Hcareers saw significant growth both in the number of employers posting jobs and also the number of jobs posted in 2013. The improving economy, recovering business travel market, increasing interest in physical fitness and new hospital focus on patient experience likely all contributed to the staffing needs of hospitality employers in 2013.

Other industry highlights from the report include –

Year-over-year growth within hospitality sub groups
Restaurant and health/athletic clubs saw dramatic growth year-over-year as well as entertainment and conference/meeting/events.

Hotel/resort takes the lead
At 53 percent, hotel/resort jobs continued to account for the highest percentage of positions posted by employers on Hcareers. New construction, improving performing metrics and positive predictions for both revenue and business travel lead us to believe this trend will continue in 2014.

Top states/provinces posting jobs
California topped all states for jobs posted in 2013, with 18,928 positions accounting for almost 11 percent. Florida accounts for another 10 percent of jobs posted in 2013, followed by Texas (9 percent) and Colorado and New York tied at 4 percent.

Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia were once again the top three provinces, representing 5 percent, 4 percent and 1 percent of total jobs posted to Hcareers, respectively.
