HORSESHOE BAY, Texas, June 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrate the birthdays of Apple, a Green-winged Macaw, and Sunshine, a Capri Macaw, at Horseshoe Bay Resort on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Both exotic birds have been part of the resort family for over ten years and are adored by members and guests. Resort guests will enjoy a complimentary show, called Birds of the Bay, at 9:00am at Palm D'Or Pavilion followed by bird-themed activities, arts & crafts, birthday cupcake decorating and light snacks. Kids will enjoy playing "pin-the-tail on the macaw," making their very own bird puppet and feather pen while sipping on Pink Flamingo Lemonade and Red Macaw Fruit Punch.

Horseshoe Bay Resort is celebrating the birthdays of two of it's featured attractions. Apple, a Green-winged Macaw, and Sunshine, a Capri Macaw, have been with the resort for over 10-years. The birthday celebration starts this Saturday at 9 a.m. the resort's Palm D'or Pavilion.

The highlight of the resort's Big Birthday Bash will be the opportunity for guests and members to take photos with Apple and Sunshine and to get up close and personal with several of the resort's feathered friends including Ralph and Gracie, two Umbrella Cockatoos; Joseph, an African Grey; Scooter, a Sun Conure; Buckaroo and Merlin, two Green-winged Macaws; and Malickai, a Severe Macaw. Mingo, the resort's flamingo, will also be in attendance.

Throughout the weekend, guests will stay busy with family-friendly activities including kids' shark boat rides, Lazy Day and Sunset cruises on Lake LBJ, Dive-In Movies, Candy S'mores on the lawn and much more.
