HORSESHOE BAY, Texas, Oct. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrate Fall at the 2013 Horseshoe Bay Resort Wine and Dine Festival featuring concerts by Bob Schneider, The Hunter Sullivan Big Band, Ghost Along the Brazos and MilkDrive. Festival highlights will include, a Friday night four-course kickoff dinner paired with thoughtfully selected Hill Country varietals, celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, including a demo by Food Network Star Season 7 finalist, Susie Jimenez, and a sunset wine stroll where participants spend the afternoon sampling wines and cuisine from award-winning chefs and wineries.
The Horseshoe Bay Resort Wine and Dine Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, November 8-9th, at Horseshoe Bay Resort, located 45-minutes west of Austin and five minutes west of Marble Falls. Charity Four-course Dinner and Wine Auction
Friday, November 8th
6 p.m. at the Live Oak Event Lawn at Horseshoe Bay Resort
One of the highlights of this year's festival will be Friday night's four-course dinner prepared by Horseshoe Bay Resort's executive chef Gilbert Moore and his culinary team. The seated dinner will showcase Hill Country wines paired with each course offering. The dinner will also include a live auction where participants bid on wines and other items to benefit CASA and The Texas Wine Growers and Grape Association. Live music with be provided by heralded crooner Hunter Sullivan and his Big Band. Tickets for the Dinner are $89.00. Hors d' oeurves will be offered starting at 6 p.m. with the dinner beginning at 7 p.m. Dress is business casual.
Celebrity Chef Cooking Demonstrations
Saturday, November 9th
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Palm D'Or Pavilion at Horseshoe Bay Resort
Three celebrity chefs will be conducting cooking demos for attendees at the 2013 Horseshoe Bay Resort Wine and Dine Festival. The demos start at 11 a.m. with acclaimed pastry chef Rebecca Rather. Rather has been featured in numerous publications including Texas Monthly, Gourmet, Ladies Home Journal, Southern Living and more. She is known as the one and only "Pastry Queen" across the Country. At noon, Cowboy chef Grady Spears will take the cooking stage. Spears is the ultimate name in cowboy cooking. He has released several books including: A Cowboy In The Kitchen, Cowboy Cocktails, and The Great Steak Book. At 1p.m. Food Network Star Season 7 finalist Susie Jimenez will conduct a cooking demo. Jimenez, who currently owns and operates her Houston restaurant Trenza, will showcase her talents and passion for food. Jimenez attended the California Culinary Academy and began her relationship with food picking fruit with her parents, who came to California from Mexico. The Highlight of each festival is the Wine & Dine stroll featuring thoughtfully prepared food offerings from award-winning chefs, artisans and restaurants from across the Hill Country. In addition numerous wineries will be offering wine tastings throughout the afternoon. All food and wine tastings are included with paid admission. In addition, all Sunset Wine and Dine Stroll attendees will receive a 2013 festival wine glass. The Wine and Dine Stroll will also include live performances by MilkDrive, an exhilarating Austin string band; Ghosts Along the Brazos, a "swingin folk funk" band and a featured sunset concert by Bob Schneider and acoustic quartet.
