'Horsesfeathers, Chaos, and Tragedy': A Child Custody Struggle
GREATER VICTORIA, British Columbia, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- "Horsefeathers, Chaos, and Tragedy" by Baldy Whitepen: Divorce in Canada was extremely limited until 1968 when a "renovated" Divorce Act became law; such separations then became far easier to obtain. Enter Canadian "Baldy Whitepen," a naive man who found himself married to a woman with disguised emotional problems. "Horsefeathers, Chaos, and Tragedy" is his story; one of personal regret, modification, and transformation resulting from his divorce and child custody struggle that yielded a legal decision denying him access to the two youngest of his four children.
"Horsefeathers, Chaos, and Tragedy" (published by Trafford Publishing) is in part an expose of the "divorce industry" as it existed four decades ago. The wife's private tantrums and tirades never got tagged as evidence in the halls of justice. At various times, four different psychiatrists expressed concern about this woman's conduct and behavior, but they kept changing their minds about custody of the younger children! This "enterprising" woman had hired a lawyer who had a reputation for manipulating witnesses and enhancing affidavits! The resulting struggle was almost beyond belief!
About the Author
Baldy Whitepen "grew up in a rough and tough, weather-beaten rural area of Eastern Canada. Imagine a young boy wallowing through knee-deep snow, squinting slitty-eyed into the brutally cold wind, lurching from side-to-side in a gait that resembled a dory being rowed diagonally into a coastal gale!" Transferring this fortitude to his academic pursuits, he earned a doctorate from a prestigious Canadian university, became an environmental pollution research scientist, obtained a few patents, published a number of scientific papers, and taught at a post-secondary institution. And, he loves bridge.
