Horne Engineering Services, LLC Executes Agreement with G2 Environmental Technologies, LLC to Provide EnerBurn® to Government Customers
FAIRFAX, Va., May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Horne Engineering Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Horne International, Inc. (OTCBB: HNIN), today announced that it has entered into a marketing and reseller agreement with G2 Environmental Technologies, LLC of Tampa, Florida to provide EnerBurn® to government customers. EnerBurn® is a diesel fuel combustion catalyst which is mixed directly with diesel engine fuel, at a 1:2500 dilution ratio. EnerBurn®, an EPA registered product, lowers the combustion temperature of carbon-based fuel and accelerates the oxidation process, which enhances the burn rate of diesel fuel in the engine. Previously unburned fuel is oxidized before the exhaust stroke, substantially reducing carbon soot emissions, keeping the engine cleaner and lowering NOx emissions per vehicle mile traveled as a result of increased fuel efficiency.
Performance benefits of adding EnerBurn® to any diesel operated engine include an increase in fuel efficiency of 8 to 15%, increased horse power up to 4%, reduced engine wear of 30-50%, increased oil change Intervals of approximately 50% and extended engine life that may approach or exceed 50%. Environmental benefits of adding EnerBurn® include diesel smoke reduction of up to 70%, NOx emission reductions of 10-14% and CO2 emission reduction of approximately 10%.
"According to a May 2011 National Defense Industrial Association article entitled 'Army's Energy Battle Plan: Attack Fuel Demand' by Sandra I. Erwin, the U.S. military uses approximately 60 to 70 million gallons of fuel per month in war zones alone and 35 to 45% of that is for use in diesel generators with much of the balance used to fuel vehicles and aircraft. EnerBurn® provides a means of reducing the 'logistical tail' of combat operations as well as the costs and environmental impacts of fuel use throughout the Department of Defense," said Mark Hodges, Vice President of Environmental Technology and Services of Horne Engineering Services.
Horne Engineering Services is currently pursuing a GSA Schedule 23 contract for EnerBurn® and has submitted a proposal for the testing of EnerBurn® by the U.S. Marine Corps at their Experimental Forward Operating Base (ExFOB) at 29 Palms in Southern California.
"This agreement with G2 Environmental Technologies brings an exciting and useful product to Horne Engineering Services' portfolio and is squarely within our scope of Energy and Environment," said Evan Auld-Susott, CEO of Horne International. "Horne won't be limiting its sales initiatives to the U.S. Federal customer. Our sales targets are municipal, regional, national and international. We anticipate a positive reception of the EnerBurn® product by all of our intended government customers."
