Horizon Media Launches Standalone Audio Agency, Wordsworth & Booth
Wordsworth & Booth to be helmed by content creation expert, Tony Mennuto; Burger King and iHeartMedia are agency's first clients
NEW YORK, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Horizon Media, the largest and fastest growing privately held media services agency in the world, is pleased to announce the launch of its stand-alone audio creative and production entity, Wordsworth & Booth. The unit will be helmed by audio services veteran Tony Mennuto, who will report to Vinnie O'Toole, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Horizon Media. Wordsworth & Booth will be based in New York.
Wordsworth & Booth -- named for the quality creative writing skills required to develop exceptional audio creative, and the recording booths historically used in audio production -- will provide audio creative and production services including creative consulting, content creation, and enhanced audio production capabilities for brands looking for new and effective audio-based solutions.
"As marketers and agencies continue to embrace real-time marketing, having the ability to align media strategies and data inputs with creative outputs allows us to make quicker, more efficient decisions on behalf of our clients," said Bill Koenigsberg, President, Founder, and CEO of Horizon Media. "Audio creative often 'takes a back seat,' but radio is the number one reach medium — so as television's audience declines, radio becomes even more important to fill in that missing reach. Radio reaches 245 million consumers a month, and in order to effectively communicate with this massive audience the talent, creative and content needs to be more impactful and more thoughtful. Radio provides a direct line to our emotions, moods and memories, and I'm excited to provide audio creative and production capabilities for advertisers as new opportunities to capitalize on the power of audio continue to emerge."
Tony Mennuto, formerly Vice President, Branded Content Solutions at CBS Altitude Group, will lead Wordsworth & Booth as President, overseeing all creative and production services. The new unit will produce work on behalf of brands across all industries; its first clients are Burger King and iHeartMedia. Wordsworth & Booth will be Burger King's Radio Agency of Record. For iHeartMedia, the agency will be responsible for proposal development, ideation, and physical production, as well as extending the longevity and reach of radio creative by repurposing content for both digital and long form executions.
Before CBS, Mennuto founded MisterFace, a New York based content creation company staffed by marketing experts and comedians. Previously, Tony was the creative director behind RadioFace, a creative radio advertising company in New York City. He also held the position of Creative Director of the radio production arm of the nationally-recognized audio production facility Sound Lounge. Mennuto has written, supervised, cast and produced thousands of radio spots for brands. In his illustrious career, He has been recognized as an award-winning ad agency creative, a voice-over actor, and spent 8 years as a successful television writer/producer/actor for major television networks like HBO, NBC, ESPN, VH1, and CBS. His goal then is the same as now: to create content that people love seeing or hearing and ultimately drives sales.
"The audio space today is ripe for innovation and change," said Tony Mennuto, President of Wordsworth & Booth. "For years, audio has been lacking much-needed creativity, and I have an incredibly exciting opportunity with Wordsworth & Booth to create work that moves beyond traditional audio content. I'm looking forward to inventing new and exciting audio opportunities for brands."
Matt Nelson, Executive Producer of Wordsworth & Booth, will lead account management and production services. Nelson was formerly radio and music producer at Hogarth/J.Walter Thompson NY, and co-founder of NYC-based MixFly Audio Post and Remix Your Brand.
Wordsworth & Booth will be located at 75 Varick Street, on the 14th floor.
